The Milestone of the Institution
➢ Formed more than 3000 SHGs and promoted them to savings to enterprise
(Ulitayadinda Udyamadedege) like dairying, retailing, vending, vegetable
cultivation, mini garments, production outsourcing with industries.
➢ Facilitated to farm Shakthi Souhardha women self help group co-operative in
Mandya District in 2006 and the co-operative is running by its own.
➢ More than 1600 joint liability groups are formed and linking with the concerned
banks in Rajeev Gandhi Chaithanya Yojane self employement scheme under
NRLM. Around 7800 youths got benefit under this scheme. We provided
counseling services, JLG formation, conducted 6 days EDP training and
coordination between banks & rural youths and RDPR to get loan sanctions, loan
disbursement, repayment and also incentive release from RDPR to loany
candidate. Vikasana stands 2nd place in the state in implementing this
programme.
➢ Facilitated in forming 100% women Gram Panchayath [local governance] in
Gopalapura, Mandya Taluk from 2005-06 to 2009-10, which was the only one of
its kind in the state of Karnataka
➢ Vikasana facilitated 83 members from different SHGs belonging to BPL / dwelling
in slums in purchasing a land measuring 3.5 acres for Rs. 32.85 lakhs to construct
their own houses. The individual housing plots are registered in their name. After
prolonged struggle, the sites are approved by Mandya Urban Development
Authority and grant sanctioned for house construction @Rs. 1.50/house.
➢ Treated more than 20,000 Ha. Of waste & dry land through community
participation under watershed programme in collaboration with watershed
dept, NABARD and ITC/MSK.
➢ Promoted more than 30 WEBSAP groups (Women based sustainable agriculture
Practice) started mutual forming through creating common infrastructure in the
group.
